This is the video introduction that was sent to all the ladies who said yes to contributing to the It's My Testimony project.
If you are getting this message, it means that you have said “Yes” to embarking on a journey with me. I am so excited about this adventure. I have over the past year or so dedicated an area of my home to devoting time to prayer, reading devotionals and reading and memorizing scripture. I by no means am perfect but I’ve come a long way. I came across a devotional online recently called God Hears Her. It’s a 365 day devotional for Women and by Women produced by The popular Our Daily Bread organization. It’s a collection of 366 devotional entries written by women.
I thought, I would love to contribute to something like this. I wonder how these women got chosen. Then I thought, I bet there are many women who would like to contribute to something like this. That’s how this idea was born. I currently have around thirty of you on board for this journey. I’m starting simple. This is my first book, so I’m starting with my circle of friends and family and am producing a 30 day devotional for women by women. I’m happy to say that some of you have already submitted your entries. Kudos to you. Those of you who are still mulling around what to write about and what to say, I just wanted to give you some encouragement. It can be something simple, maybe you want to write about the Starbucks barista that knows your name and how it’s important to be kind to people on a regular basis. Or maybe you want to be more vulnerable and talk about a special relationship that means the world to you. As long as you think it will be inspirational for other women to read and know about, I say go for it.
I’m in the process of hiring the editor for the project. I have an interview with her tomorrow. I also have a good lead on someone to do the cover art. So far, so good. It’s all coming together. I’ll keep you posted as things come together. If you need to talk about your submission whether it be choosing a scripture to deciding what would be a good theme, I’m here to talk. Remember the deadline is September 15th. Hope to hear from you soon.
